Referrals

  • The referring individual provides an Intake Coordinator with relevant information regarding potential clients.
  • The Intake Coordinator reviews the information, screens for appropriateness, and disseminates relevant information to the Intake Team for review.
  • The Intake Coordinator interviews the potential client, when possible, as part of the admissions process.
  • The Intake Coordinator will schedule and Intake Meeting to perform an integrated assessment.
  • Intake decisions can be delayed if the team requires additional information in order to make a decision. Such information will be sought by the Intake Coordinator and provided to the Intake Team.
  • Intake Team members recommend or deny a potential client for admission.

Admissions Criteria

The following is not an exhaustive list of the type of issues that patients come to Southern Plains may have.

  • Depression or Dysthymia
  • Oppositional -Defiant
  • Conduct Disorder
  • Aggressive and Violent Behavior
  • Bi-polar I or II
  • Substance Abuse
  • Post Traumatic Stress
  • Addictions
  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Family Adjustment Difficulties
  • Victims of Abuse and Neglect
  • Eating Disorders
  • Learning Disabilities/Non-verbal Learning Disabilities
  • Personality Disorders (borderline, histrionic, narcissistic traits)
  • Bereavement
  • Low Self-Esteem
  • Relationships Problems
  • Manipulation
  • Low Motivation
  • Hopelessness
  • Habitual Lying
  • Peer Problems
  • Adoption/Attachment Issues
  • Identity issues

Our admissions criteria exclude:

  • Medically Unstable
  • Pregnancy
  • Parents who are unwilling to participate
  • Low IQ (below 70)
  • Psychosis
