Referrals
- The referring individual provides an Intake Coordinator with relevant information regarding potential clients.
- The Intake Coordinator reviews the information, screens for appropriateness, and disseminates relevant information to the Intake Team for review.
- The Intake Coordinator interviews the potential client, when possible, as part of the admissions process.
- The Intake Coordinator will schedule and Intake Meeting to perform an integrated assessment.
- Intake decisions can be delayed if the team requires additional information in order to make a decision. Such information will be sought by the Intake Coordinator and provided to the Intake Team.
- Intake Team members recommend or deny a potential client for admission.

The following is not an exhaustive list of the type of issues that patients come to Southern Plains may have.
- Depression or Dysthymia
- Oppositional -Defiant
- Conduct Disorder
- Aggressive and Violent Behavior
- Bi-polar I or II
- Substance Abuse
- Post Traumatic Stress
- Addictions
- Anxiety Disorders
- Family Adjustment Difficulties
- Victims of Abuse and Neglect
- Eating Disorders
- Learning Disabilities/Non-verbal Learning Disabilities
- Personality Disorders (borderline, histrionic, narcissistic traits)
- Bereavement
- Low Self-Esteem
- Relationships Problems
- Manipulation
- Low Motivation
- Hopelessness
- Habitual Lying
- Peer Problems
- Adoption/Attachment Issues
- Identity issues
Our admissions criteria exclude:
- Medically Unstable
- Pregnancy
- Parents who are unwilling to participate
- Low IQ (below 70)
- Psychosis
